I Scored at the Thrift Store – Is it Bigger than a Breadbox?

Eclectically Vintage I Scored at the Thrift Store

Baguettes, bagels, croissants …

rye, wheat, sourdough, pumpernickel.

Any way you slice it, I am a bread addict.

Slathered in salted butter is my preference.

Place a loaf on the counter in the morning and chances are that by nightfall there will only be a few telltale crumbs.

Think if I hide it away in this bread box and shut the door, the temptation will disappear?

  1. I could use one of those. And a magazine. And whatever else you got that I like. I can even get to Jersey to pick all of it up. With a truck.

  2. Are you really gonna use it for bread Kelly? or something else, hmmm. 😉 I’ve seen only one of these before and that one was in bad shape, I wanted to get it to store some of my Kitchen supplies.

  3. Oh what a fun find! I’m going treasure hunting with some friends on Sunday. Ya never know what I’ll bring home next! I’ve been searching for glass fishing floats lately. Wish us luck!

  4. Hi,
This is a good time for this! I’ve just found my Mom’s in a box. I’ve made two runs to the thrift stores to get rid of stuff (I’m purging) and it is still here. It’s now trendy again as it’s dark brown and chrome. Can’t decide whether to keep it or not. Did they really keep bread fresh? Hmmmm…….
Can’t wait to see what you do with it (if anything)!

  5. You are SO lucky to have scored a seemingly vintage breadbox. they are few and far between, and the new ones just do not meet muster (I know, I have one). you have fab thrifts in your neck of the woods. 🙂

  6. Love your breadbox. I just found two very similar at the Goodwill Outlet in Nashville recently. Cheap enough that I bought both so as to maybe sale one. Love having the other one for my bread obsession as well.

  7. So funny I got the same bread box at an estate sale the same day you posted this one! I love mine and hope you get as much use out of it as I hope to get out of mine.

  8. I have the same bread box. I either picked it up at a yard sale or most likely it was a curb find. I posted it on a fb for sale site for $10. before looking it up then looked it up. Needless to say i deleted my post andcthe ladies wanting it will just have to pay the higher price ehen i repost it
