Hooray for the red, white and blue.
Need some summer porch decorating ideas? It’s fun gussying up my front porch for every season and this summer, my porch is getting patriotic with a little red, white and blue.

I love these for hanging things outdoors:

I love the texture of this wreath but wanted to jazz it up for summer so I added some red, white and blue rope and a few pieces of denim bunting.
Why save outdoor string lights just for Christmas? I found these adorable lights that look like the glass fishing buoys that I collect.
The fireflies won’t be the only ones lighting up the night now. I love that they stay put plus they won’t damage my railing.
Tip: Add one light clip for every two feet of lights
Buoy String Lights are perfect for summer.
Of course, my porch isn’t complete without something old and these Vintage Soda Crates stacked high are perfect for showing off plants.
A few Old Croquet Mallets are nestled among the ferns for an unexpected punch of color.
More ferns because I just can’t get enough.
I hung these in reproduction olive buckets but I found These Vintage Olive Buckets at a great price! Just add rope and your favorite plant.
A Monogrammed Doormat welcomes guests.
Here’s to long sunny days, running for the ice cream truck and spending lots of time on the porch.

Love the porch!!! Love Command hangers too! Can you tell me if Command has developed anything that will stick to brick? Want to hang some things on the wall and don’t want to make a lot of holes in the brick. TYA

Hi.. I have an antique Transferware platter that I would like to hang on the Formica backsplash over my sink. Do you think a Command hook will adhere to the formica enough to hold a large platter?
Pam, I have VERY OCCASIONALLY had one let loose. I have been using these since they came out.
Hi Pam – Command products specifically say on the package not to use them to hang valuables or antiques so while I do believe they would work great on formica, I don’t think you should hang an antique platter.
Looks great! I use these hooks frequently in fact I keep a supply on hand.

The small buoy lights are a perfect touch.
I’ll keep in mind those hooks, generally my hooks just fall but I must be applying them the wrong way.
Thanks! Make sure to clean the surface area first with rubbing alcohol – that may be why they are falling off.

I love your blog! Could you tell me what material your wreath is made from? I was thinking maybe raffia, but that wouldn’t account for the curly ends? Love it & your porch!

Great creation. Looks amazing. I just bought a crochet set in a yard sale for $2. I should of inspected it better because they aren’t in that great of shape. Thank you for giving me the perfect idea to repurpose these. But I have to say I’m a little bit mad at you. I should be packing to relocate to my new house and I’m spending all my time on your web site looking for design ideas. I’ll have to pry myself away from my lap top and get busy. Have a great day.
