Colorful Spring Living Room Refresh

Beautiful spring living room refresh. Great tips for adding color and texture kellyelko.com

I’ve been in a decorating rut since I packed away the last piece of Christmas tinsel.

It’s time to crawl out of that rut and add some fun spring color and personality into my living room.

BEFORE (even Sushi is ready for a change – and a new bone) …

Love the vintage demijohn collection on the mantel kellyelko.com

AFTER – a spring refresh (I’m sharing links to all of my favorite finds at the end of this post).

I’m a big fan of eclectic style. Mixing – not matching – and adding personality over time with things I love.

That’s why I love World Market and their huge variety of everything for home. Nobody would ever guess that I got everything to add some spring to my living room from one place – World Market.

Prop and layer accessories on the mantel for a relaxed look. Love the boat art and the old green bottle holding a single flowering branch kellyelko.com

I like layering things on my mantel and this rowboat art adds the perfect pop of color against a couple of old windows.

A nautical rope monkey ball adds texture and a faux blossom branch screams spring.

A pair of old glass bottles get their own branches and frame my old chicken coop fireplace screen.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with a new color – especially when using minimal commitment accessories. I normally would never choose these colors but love the way the pink ikat pillows liven up the room.

Add a interest to chairs with an unexpected color and pattern like these pink ikat pillows on the vintage club chairs kellyelko.com

Mixed metals add more interest and I love the rope on this handmade brass cowbell.

The bunny with carrot separation anxiety is a salt and pepper shaker set!

Not only do I like to prop …

I’m also a stacker. A colorful bone box adds height and interest to this sand hour glass.

I never met a cloche I didn’t want to run off to Vegas with and marry.

This cement base cloche takes it up a level.

A wreath isn’t just for the front door – this speckled egg twig wreath adds an unexpected touch surrounding the faux succulent filled cloche.

I LOVE this wool and silk pillow with huge, chunky tassels.

I’m officially out of my decorating rut and ready for spring.

I’m loving the new spring collections at World Market – so much color, texture and style.

  1. Love your rowboat picture, your bell and those beautiful and colorful pillows, all of it looks wonderful,

  2. Just stumbled on your site, Kelly. Lovely job throughout your home! I, too, have a 100-year-old home and love to decorate eclectically. (If it makes me smile, it’s mine and it’s in.) I tried to find the name of the paint color that you used in your Living Room. Do you mind me asking?
    Thanks!!
