Anita of Far Above Rubies lives in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina on land that’s been in her family for generations.

Anita replaced laminate countertops with 150 antique wormy chestnut that came from her great grandmothers little guest house.

I love the way she wrapped it around the front of the sink and a wire makes a simple towel holder.

  1. You have so many beautiful pieces in your home. I love the way you were able to mix and match, without over powering the space. I also love how you took something old and simple, I.e. the door, and made it work in the space, as well as made it a useful piece. Good job, and very creative. Thanks fr sharing.

  5. First of all love country music. Second of all thank you for inviting me into your home. There’s not one thing I can’t say that I don’t like. Everything is so homey and relaxing. There was a few old pieces I saw that remind ed me when I gas growing up like the radio in the kitchen. The door to the pantry. Believe or not my parents had the same couches that were I think it was your living room.I just fell in love with the porch not the front I guess the bsck or side. Love to have that. I could ramble on about your beautiful home. From one southerner to another thank you truly enjoyed it.
