Big News – Meet Some Great Folk & a Giveaway!

Drumroll please …

I am excited to announce that i will be a contributing blogger for FOLK.

I recently found out about this fabulous magazine that’s based on living authentically and focusing on the American spirit.

Couldn’t come at a better time – with Hurricane Sandy beating the East Coast and my little town and home.

It’s been exactly one week since we lost power but there is definitely a silver lining …

focusing on the simple things in life.

Which is what FOLK is all about.

And here’s Folk’s Editor-in-Chief, Ben Ashby.
Isn’t he cute!
I think I see a day at the flea market in our future.

My girl Kari from Thistlewood Farm is kicking off the first contributor post today (and its a good one)! so …

head on over to meet some great folk.

Subscription Special

To celebrate 11,000 FOLK Facebook likes, Ben is having an $11 FOLK subscription special (normally $25).  That’s a full year – six eye-candy filled issues.

Now that’s a Christmas gift I’d love Santa to put in my stocking.

Win a Year Subscription to FOLK Magazine

How to enter:

1) Head over to the FOLK blog and click on the red Christmas front page on the sidebar (digital).  Tell me what you love about the magazine.

Boring but Necessary Stuff:  Contest ends on November 7, 2012.  Winner will be chosen by Random.org and notified via email.  If winner does not respond within 2 days, another winner will be chosen.  Subscription will be fulfilled by FOLK Magazine.

I am lucky enough to be a FOLK contributing blogger but I only speak the truth.

Hurricane Sandy – New Jersey was devastated.  I lost power for a week – nothing compared to some.

Here’s a simple way to help – Socks for Sandy – to help those with only the clothes on their backs.

P.S.  The winner of the Wayfair Goldfish Pillow is #67 – Brenda Van Riper!

  1. Congratulations Kelly! I love Folk and am excited to hear that you will be contributing. I’m so glad you are all okay, but I know being without power is not fun either.

  2. Congratulations! I love Folk magazine. I can’t remember exactly where I’ve seen it before but I believe it was in print. The best part about this magazine and the reason I like it is because – while the pictures appear oh-so-elegant, it does NOT look out of reach for a regular person.

  3. Congrats, Kelly. I didn’t realize so many bloggers I know are contributors. So glad you didn’t have bad storm damage and only power loss. That is awful, too. We take it all for granted until we lose it.

  4. I’m happy you are powered back up, and now you can let the blog world have it via being a FOLK contributor. Take THAT hurricane Sandy!

  8. Kelly, I love the whole philosophy of Folk. The photography is gorgeous! I can’t wait to subscribe (and buy a Christmas subscription for my mom, too!) And I’m so happy that you’re going to be a Folk blog contributor.

Do you think I could write a story for them about the worm? Surely that’s made-in-America! 🙂

Take care and stay warm, my friend.

  11. I must have been living under a rock.. but I am so excited about your new magazine because we need to support our country and its merchants. There are cottage shops popping up all over the country and we need to recycle and re-purpose everything possible and then buy from the local and wonderful people that make up the USA~~ Thanks for putting out a magazine that showcases our American Folk..s
