I Scored at the Thrift Store – The Moose is Loose

Like any great mystery writer, I know how to write a thrilling cliffhanger.

I know, I know, you’re probably wondering why I haven’t gotten a book deal yet.

I’m sure that’s coming soon but in the meantime, our last edition of I Scored at the Thrift Store ended like this:

I did score one more find that I’ll share next week (hint:  it was once part of a living, breathing animal)!

Since I know the suspense is killing you, your wait is finally over.

Huh, you’re asking?

What is it?

You sound like my hubs.

It certainly was a mystery to him as to why I lugged this giant, gnawed, bone-like thing home.

As for the cliffhanger, hope it lived up to your week long wait.

Stephen King could learn a thing or two from me.

P.S. My daughter asked me to show off her sculpture – it really brings the term doing the funky chicken to a whole new level.

  1. Great score! You can use that for all kinds of things – and will look good a a prop for your pictures as well. Your daughter’s sculpture is well-proportioned and just lovely!

  2. Yikes! I don’t know who is scarier, you or your daughter’s sculpture! Have fun with your antler – what are you going to do with it?

  3. Hahahaha……can you warn us when the funky chicken is about to make an appearance so I won’t be drinking coffee 🙂 The moose antler is even better than you described it!

  4. Sweet! You have a sculptor in the family, too! Now, the moose antler….I’m not a fan of the antler craze. I don’t really get it, but my son the sculptor loves it!

  5. Well Kelly, for the first time (there’s always a first) my kuddos are going to your daughter!!!! I love the “funky Chicken”…little one got talent! As for the Antlers, I just can’t get into the whole animal thing I’ve seen in different blogs…but hey…if you are happy I’m happy for you girl! Good for and I’m sure Bambi is growing a bigger rack somewhere in the enchanted forest 🙂

  6. Now that’s a find my husband (the hunter) would love to see me bring home! Have any interesting plans for it? And such a cute sculpture!
    Debbie 🙂

  7. Now that is a very cool antler…and love the sculpture!…I miss those days of my son making funky things…and I have saved some of them and I drag them out from time to time…it makes him crazy!…:)…that’s what moms are for!
