Deck the Halls – Christmas in My Kitchen

December 6, 2013  Christmas | Uncategorized

Christmas Kitchen - love the white Shiny Brite tree! kellyelko.com

I’ve been decking the halls and trimming the trees (the many, many trees).

Christmas spirit is in the air.

Hopefully, you’ve seen my full Christmas House Tour.

I forgot to add the most used room in the house – my kitchen.

It’s where the hot chocolate is brewed, the popcorn is popped and the carrots for Rudolph are sliced.

It’s about simplicity and the most important thing around the holidays …

the food.

A batch of glittery dollar store reindeer becomes a garland with a little baker’s twine.

Oh, and the cookies are baked here too.

The flocked white Christmas tree is all Shiny Brite.

A much different look than the white mason jar Christmas tree from last year.

Can you spot our Elf on the Shelf, Hot Tamale?  He’s the one clutching the overripe banana!

So pretty! I really wish I had room for a Christmas tree in our kitchen. Thankfully, I can at least see our tree from the kitchen this year since we moved it to a new room.

Well, once again, DFF, you have not only reaffirmed the DFF status- same spice jars (which were my Mom’s!), same scale, lots of similar vintage ornaments – but you have inspired me! I am now on the lookout for a white tree (oh, wish I had known this during garage sale season!) and a little rosemary tree. Save one of those peanut butter blossoms for me, wouldya? I think they go with martinis….
PS Idea: spray flocking on a green tree (I have one of those!!!)

Maybe next, remind me! I also just put the extra tree branches at my sink window so I could smell the pine. I love everything, Kelly…going to share on FB now.
