Summer Entertaining – a Patriotic Picnic
What’s more American than barbecues, picnics and corn on the cob?
A little red white and blue thrown in makes summer entertaining that much more festive.
I don’t save these colors for just Memorial Day or the 4th of July either and I’m all about using what you have inside and bringing it outdoors (remember seeing a lot of this in my summer mudroom).
Want to add more color and texture – how about beach towels? Bonus – the kids can dry off after a water balloon fight.
It’s easy to add color when you have classic white adirondack chairs.
Need a place to serve your margaritas – a tray from my daughter’s room does double duty.
Need something to keep your napkins from flying away? Shells scream summer – bonus, hold it up to your ear to hear the roar of the ocean.
Need a statement centerpiece? Try something unexpected like a candleholder filled with dried flowers (or real once they bloom)!
Need a comfy place to rest – pull a pillow or two right off your couch.
Need a festive tablecloth? Try wrapping paper – best part, no clean up required …
and don’t forget the sparklers.
Hooray for the red, white and blue …
all summer long.

It’s official. You are my favorite. Of all the blogs out there, you are my favorite. Red, white and blue decor on the patio WITH conch shells? You’re my girl. It’s decided. (Whew! Glad THAT’S over!)
What a fun spot to relax and enjoy a picnic. That anchor pillow is super cute!
The Anchors Away pillow is so fun to see as is the whole yard.
What is the thing hanging in the tree? It looks like copper pipe to me? Neat!
It’s a candlelier!
Love the mix of blues and reds Kelly!!! Enjoy the outdoors!
