Creative Christmas Decorating Ideas
Christmas time is here in spades.
It’s time for hot chocolate, cheesy Hallmark Christmas movie marathons and big batches of hot soup (I’ll be whipping up this chicken pumpkin soup this weekend) and shopping this great West Elm sale!
There’s nothing better than snuggling by the fire on a cold winter day with good food, shopping without ever leaving the house, and getting inspiration from all of the beautifully decked Christmas homes.
Here are some of my favorite creative Christmas decorating ideas …
Love the classic red and green and the birch branches – Craftberry Bush
A forrest of embroidery hoops – The Golden Sycamore
She had me at giant chalkboard – Page Knudsen
An old dough bowl filled with presents – Rooms for Rent
Who needs a mantel when you can have a Christmas bannister – Jeanne Oliver Designs
I need an apre ski cocktail after seeing this fun ski-themed tree – The Lilypad Cottage
A simple wreath makes a guest bedroom festive – Duke Manor Farm
Every guest gets a wreath of honor – Kindred Vintage
Vintage marquee numbers and a festive sign in the kitchen – Jennifer Rizzo
And I can’t decide if my favorite from my Christmas house tour is my whimsical mantel …
or Sushi in her red turtleneck!
Here’s to decking the halls.
Kelly, I love all the festive and creative decorations in your house. I know what you mean, the mantel looks so cute but, I am going to have to choose Sushi as the cutest!. Lol. Pat S
Sushi’s head is going to get even bigger Pat!
thanks kelly!! and goodness yes on sushi!! merry christmas!!
I love all this inspiration. I saw birch branches and the wooden horse on wheels at Home Goods, I knew I should’ve bought them, wonder if they’re still there. I wish our pup would let me dress him up, your dog is so darn cute!
Don’t you hate when that happens! Sushi used to hate her clothes, now she reluctantly does it because she knows how much it pleases her mommy!
Kelly, love your mantel–where did you get the burlap bottomed trees? Thanks–Jeanne
Thanks Jeanne! A full source list of everything on my house tour is at the bottom of my post. The trees are from Balsam Hill here: http://Balsam Hill First Snow Pine Tabletop Tree – 36”
Sushi in the sweater!!!!….Great inspiration here !!!
