I found Louisa Craven on Instagram and fell in love with her little bit of vintage, little bit of boho, lots of personality home.
She’s infusing her new build home in northern Virginia with her unique style.

“My decorating philosophy has always been to decorate and surround my home with things that I love, no matter what the design style. I often use family heirlooms and quirky one of a kind pieces to add character to a space,” says Louisa.
What a perfect old sign for this cozy family room.
An accordion coat rack is perfect for a wall behind the front door.
Wood bar stools and tile backsplash warm up the white kitchen.
How cool are these deconstructed chairs with so much interest from the back and the front has tone on tone stripes that mimic the Union Jack flag. One large crystal hangs from the orb chandelier.
I love the layered rugs and the red velvet pillow that reminds me of an antique rug.
I love the tribal print rug layered over the neutral rug and poufs and colorful pillows add personality.
Found objects tell a story.
Louisa has about 30 plants in her home and I love the mix of wicker, ceramic and terra cotta planters.
The weathered details of the console table pair nicely with a statement making mirror.
I love the weathered interior of this hutch and the collections inside.
A few blue touches from bedding and a beautiful rug pop against the neutral bedroom with cut paper art.

Agree Laura – enjoy the weekend!
Wow, that was awesome + filled with personality! Right now, I have 2 houseplants, neither of which will survive winter at my house, probably. I have issues keeping plants alive in the off-season. Fingers crossed!
Try misting them with a plastic water bottle in the winter.
Love the unique pulley and drop light in the TV room corner. I have one of those pulley’s. Now I know what to do with it. The whole house is really well done.
Oh I love that light – glad you got an idea from her home!
It’s almost like looking through a candy shop window, lots to see and yummy.
Candy shop minus the calories!
