Mason Jar Window Treatment & New Blue Mason Jars Giveaway!

May 8, 2013  Decorating | Uncategorized

Mason Jar Window Treatment - and New Blue 100 Year Anniversary Mason Jars kellyelko.com

When I saw these new blue mason jars making a comeback for the 100 year anniversary of the Ball mason jar, it was love at first sight.

But unlike the gals from 1940, I won’t be using mine to jar preserves.

Mason Jar Window Treatment - and New Blue 100 Year Anniversary Mason Jars kellyelko.com

Mine have a much more unique purpose.

See how I wired the mason jars here.

Don’t you love these new vintage-style Ball blue mason pint jars.  They were made to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the first perfect mason jar introduced by the Ball brothers.

The new blue is much brighter than my vintage one but just as much fun.

For my 100th birthday, I would want a cake make out of 100 cookies to share with all my family (hopefully over 100 people!). The blue jars are stunning and would perfectly accent my new guest bathroom with a beachy-vintage feel. I already use clear mason jars for q-tips, cotton balls, etc, so these would be beautiful in the guest bathroom!!!

I’ll spend my 100th birthday on the dance floor. A sweeping waltz? A dramatic tango? A steamy salsa? By then, we’ll have been married 79 years–with miles and miles of dancing behind us! What better way to celebrate than cheek-to-cheek with the man I adore?

Hey wait! maybe that will be the theme of this years Big 50 party. By George I think I’ve got it!!! Thanks for encouraging my creative party planning juices. Then I would ask for a spectacular lunch at the best cafe in town – love lunch, love cafes; and would end the day fishing in the closest farm pond – hopefully my own – I could find and attempt to snag a large mouth bass.

When I turn 100 I hope to be fortunate enough to enjoy the company of my family in a peaceful setting so I can tell all the stories of growing up… as I never had the forethought to ask my parents of the special stories of their childhoods… one of my biggest regrets. Funny how life gets in the way of the things that should mean the most.

Happy 100th Birthday to ME, in just 40 years. I would have a great big party and invite everybody. Lots of music and dancing. I would decorate with Bell Blue Perfect Mason Jars. My grandson is named Mason and he asked me why I have Mason jars in my house. They remind me of him. I hope I win. I pined the picture of the jars hanging in the window. What a great idea. Thanks

Hi Kelly, This may not be the best post to say hello on…I see there’s a gazillion comments already.

Unlike the others, I am not here for the mason jars, as lovely as they are. I am here solely to wax poetic about your lovely home. I saw your feature on The Old Painted Cottage and had to pop right on over to tell you how much I appreciate your home, your style, and your attention to detail. {Sigh} I’m looking around, and although I am making progress on my little rental, it still doesn’t speak Me in quite a few areas. Well, that is one of the beauties of blogging and reading blogs; lots of inspiration with every turn. Thanks for sharing your talents!

On my 100th birthday, I would remove the oxygen tube from my nose and scream and holler, I would then attempt to do one of those in the air side jumps. Of course my kids, grand kids and great grand kids would have to help me off the floor. I would eat and drink all the things that I’m sure I’ve not been able to eat or drink for decades and just Live, Laugh and Love as I’ve been doing!

I’ve had a hard time thinking about what I would do to celebrate my 100th birthday. I guess as I’m getting older, realizing that being healthy enough to enjoy it is actually my biggest wish if I live that long. However, if I happen to feel as good as I do now, I’d love to spend it with my family in Northern Italy. It’s beautiful there!

How I would celebrate my 100th birthday: I would have someone help (or carry!) me out onto a beach, just where the water is a few inches deep, and just sit there with the water pooling around me. Can’t think of a better place to be!
