Travel is the Best Medicine and Win a Cruise!
Relaxing on the beach with a fruity drink served in a giant pineapple, reading a great book, taking a nap, having a fabulous meal overlooking the ocean … ahhh, now that’s a relaxing vacation.
My hubby and I had many of those …
before we had our girls.
Then those relaxing vacations turned into trips that were much less relaxing but every bit as fun.
So now what I look for in a vacation is being able to get the best of both world’s – keeping the kids occupied and happy while checking off a few things on my relaxation wish list.
We may drag our girls into a museum or tour a mansion and bribe good behavior with a trip to the park or a giant ice cream sundae.
But sometimes, a girl still wants to just read a good book while enjoying the sun. And now my girls want in on our vacation planning and they’ve been begging to go on a cruise.
My hubby and I went on a Norwegian cruise in 1995 where we feasted (we still talk about the pig roast and the midnight chocolate buffet), snorkeled, were entertained, relaxed, and had an amazing time.
Don’t laugh at my scrapbook page (and my mom jeans) from the cruise – we were even on a first name basis with our sommelier, Dennis!
So we talked about going on a Norwegian family cruise where my hubs and I can hang out by the pool, go to the spa or relax with a cocktail while my girls are practicing for their debut in a circus show, splashing into the pool, dancing to their favorite tunes or getting strikes in the bowling alley. I know my girls will be entertained with non-stop activities and will have the time of their lives.
I love how they break the kids into age groups too so there is no chance of anybody getting bored!
The best part – we can all come together for tons of family activities like scavenger hunts, shows and snorkeling excursions. Ok, I’m ready for two big pineapple drinks now … and two Shirley Temples for my girls please. Visit Norwegian Cruise Line to find out more.

My husband and I have been dreaming of a Caribbean cruise for several years. We actually had one all planned out for his 50th birthday, but fell short of funds to make it happen. Neither of us have ever been on a cruise, but have heard wonderful things! I know we would both love it!

My dream family vacation would be any vacation at this point! The last real vacation was in 2008 on a cruise with my family and it was divine! I had no idea what to expect but it was total indulgence with the bonus of visiting new places and experiencing other cultures. That is a fantastic vacation to me!

My dream vacation would be to New Zealand. I don’t know why, but I am pretty sure New Zealand is my paradise!
We’ve been on one cruise and it was Norwegian. They were great to cruise with and we’d love to do our 40th anniversary (this year!) on a Norwegian to the Med or Alaska. The balcony rooms are the only way to go so you can see the islands as you approach. And, the flying fish are something else!
Our dream vacation would be to take a caribbean cruise….anywhere in the caribbean. We reside in Michigan and it’s COLD, cold, CoLd here 🙂 It would be the first vacation for my son and that would be amazing.

My dream vaca would be one of those great little cruises on the East Coast, a world cruise…. or a European whirlwind where you see them all. I’d love to take Austin to Europe!!
I would love to take the women in my family for a relaxing cruise to warm, tropical places. Where we can relax on white beaches and sip frozen drinks. No clocks would be allowed. Daily massages would be required. Destination is not important as long as its some place warm, beautiful and peaceful.
I would like to take my boyfriend on a cruise. He has never been on a cruise so it would be a nice to experience a cruise with him. Any where is fine as long as it’s warm and tropical. He works hard and deserves a getaway! 🙂

Our dream family vacation would be a cruise to Hawaii. I’ve always wanted to go and think this would be the perfect way to see the islands. We were fortunate enough to take a cruise to Alaska (just the two of us) last summer for our 30th anniversary. Cruising is an amazing way to travel!

Our dream vacation has always been a cruise. Actually before we got ill ( last year … health issues) we cruised every year as a family. But illness and edical bills took that pleasure away the last 2 years. Now we are back health wise… but , well, have to get back financially healthy. So this would be a welcome back health cruise opportunity.

A cruise would be a perfect vacation for our family. A cruise would ensure that everyone has something to do. I love the idea of the entire family having a great time together without having to take multiple vacations to multiple places.
Our dream vacation is an Alaskan cruise!! We desperately wanted to do that for our honeymoon but we simply couldn’t afford it. We thought, “Ok, maybe we’ll wait and do it for our first anniversary!” Well, that has anniversary has come and gone and we opted for a simple weekend trip to Williamsburg, Virginia (just a few hour drive for us). It was wonderful but with student loans and other bills we’ve resigned to the fact that the Alaskan cruise will have to wait for a long time. We would absolutely LOVE to win a cruise!!

My dream vacation for my family is going somewhere warm and relaxing. There would be plenty of choices for activities for both my teenager and my two preteens. It would be perfect if there were activities where my kids could participate without Mark and I supervising. hawaii is a dream cruise for me
my family once took a cruise to Canada – Halifax actually and it was great. We were with my grandparents so we had to take our time and go slow on the excursions. I’d love to take my husband and go see the sites ourselves, at our own pace. A Canadian cruise would be a dream cruise for us!
