I’m Crazy for Color
Remember the show The Nanny?
Hum along with me now:
she was “the lady in red while everyone else was wearing tan”.
Leopard print, chartreuse, hot pink stilettos …
no look was too extreme for Fran the Nanny.
So, while we may not be rocking head to toe red jumpsuits while squeezing grapefruits in the supermarket aisles,
we can let loose our inner wild child and embrace color in our homes!
Like this notice me wall in my dining room.
Those are coloring book pages!
Baby steps …
start with a bold pillow!
Or start a colorful collection and group them together for maximum impact.
This red chest in my entrance is the equivalent of the red jumpsuit …
plus she gets lots of hoots and hollers!
Or have fun with cabinet colors like in my mudroom.
You can always take it outside …
pick a bold color like my planter dresser in peacock blue.
So here’s to embracing all the colors of the rainbow.

I love these challenges! Just the kick in the bum I need to finish up my guest bathroom over the next few days! http://www.attemptsatdomestication.com/shades-of-gray/
I liked Niles 😉
Sounds fun Kelly! I’ll have to find something colorful to wear!!
I’m in a weird (for me) color craving state too! We made the house super rustic and neutral on purpose, so I could throw in whatever colors I wanted on top, and I’m ready for that part now!
I just love your beautiful, most colorful home!!….have fun at the party!!
Wanted to tell you which of your colorful things I like best…but I can’t choose! Hoping to have something to share with all of you by Tuesday.
Loved that show! Thanks for sticking the song in my head for the rest.of.the.day!

Love your dresser planter.
Do you just have the potted plants sitting in the drawers or did you actually plant the plants? If planted, I would think the drawers would rot out in no time.
Love this idea by the way.

PS. as you can tell, I have been busy (in my spare time that is)checking out some of your later posts and having a great time looking through Everything. :} Lots of Great Inspiration
Colleen – in the actual post for the dresser planter I gave the whole scoop – http://eclecticallyvintage.com/2012/05/dress-up-your-plants-with-a-dresser/. I lined the bottoms of the drawers with plastic garbage bags, punched some holes thru the bag and the bottom of the drawer for drainage, filled with dirt, then planted. Of course, you could just put the pots inside the drawers too!
Sorry, guess I should had kept on looking, as this was the link on where I first seen your dresser planter. http://eclecticallyvintage.com/2012/07/im-crazy-for-color/
Had to feed hubby his lunch and was going back to your blog but got busy and never got back to it so thank you for the link. I have read through it.
