Spring Bulbs – Inside & Out
It’s time! to make the doughnuts – I mean plant the bulbs! Paper whites inside and tulips and hyacinths outside.
I usually plant amaryllis bulbs inside every winter but decided on paper whites this year. Bulbs were planted in a bowl I bought in Italy. Hoping they’ll bloom before Christmas – I can never get the timing quite right on these things!
Love the way the corks look surrounding the bulbs – and better than looking at dirt!
My thrifting buddy Lisa had a great idea to plant bulbs in an old galvanized tub, so I tried it. Found this crusty little guy at an estate sale and it’s perfect for tulips. Made the mistake of leaving it outside and a critter absconded with a bulb so I put the tub in the garage. Will store it there til early spring when I’ll hopefully glance outside to see a bucket full of colorful tulips (keeping my fingers crossed). My daughter planted the rest of the bulbs around a tree in the yard and The Hubs wanted hyacinths planted near the back steps so we could get a whiff of them during our comings and goings.
Looking forward to seeing them bloom!
