DIY Cloche Ghosts and a Halloween Mantel
See how to style a Boo-tiful Halloween mantel using jars and cloches. My DIY cloche ghosts are a fun way to add a little touch of Halloween to your mantel but they would be equally cute as a centerpiece. If you love Halloween, this is the place to be because I’ve teamed up with a creative group of friends who are also sharing their Halloween decorating ideas and I link to them all at the end of this post.
I kept it much more simple this year. You can see my Halloween Home Tour from last year here – it’s such a fun one!
My free garage sale chalkboard is the perfect backdrop for a full moon and plants add a little bit of color (and life!) to the hearth.
DIY Cloche Ghosts
Gather up your glass jars and cloches. I even used a small cheese dome that I found at the thrift store.
This one 20 oz bag of fiberfill was enough to fill all five lidded glass jars and cloches.
Cut eyes and mouths from black construction paper (I tried using a Sharpie but that was a fail).
Line up on your mantel or put faces on both sides of the cloches and use as a cute Halloween centerpiece.
Last year, Mr. Bonypart was the best skeleton centerpiece and this year, he is being attacked by a couple of aggressive little dogs as he tries to escape into the fireplace.
I love that this look is so easy to create and it’s so much cheaper, not to mention more unique, than using store bought decorations.
Now onto a pressing question. Do you steal your kids Halloween candy?

Love the framed moon on mantle. Is there a website that this can be purchased?
I’ll try to offer that as an option Janis.
I love the mantel! And YES, I absolutely steal my kids Halloween candy. It’s a right of passage as a parent.
; )
I can’t resist the candy! I think I eat a bag before the trick or treaters arrive!
Kelly, This is such a cute idea. The dog skeleton cracked me up with your pup sitting next to it. Pat S
Sushi wants to devour that little pup!
I love the cloches, Kelly! Mr. Bonyparts is such a scene stealer too!
Mr. Bonyparts is a stud!
Love this mantel! So cute and spooky without being to scary. This year is only my daughter’s 2nd Trick-or-Treat. Last year she was only 18 months old and yes we ate ALOT of her candy. But we also only went down one street(about 8 houses) to limit the sweets. It was nice most of our neighbors had animal crackers for toddlers.
I loved taking my girls trick or treating! What is your daughter going to be this year?
Oh my gosh, Mr. Bonyparts? This is the most ghoulish Halloween tour ever!
Hugs, Jamie
Everyone really brought their Halloween decorating A-game!
