Kelly’s Stamp of Approval 8

This week in Kelly’s Stamp of Approval 8, we will check out some snow covered old homes with major curb appeal including an 1850 farmhouse and two old Victorians (one pink and one blue) built across the street from each other. I’ll share my go to party appetizer that everyone loves, my favorite binge watch worthy show, Sushi’s dirty little secret and my desperate attempts to find a cure and more.

This picture perfect 1850 farmhouse on the North Fork of Long Island is even more charming under a bed of freshly fallen snow.

Original wide plank pine floors were discovered under layers of carpet and other flooring.

Speaking of beautiful homes! Father of the year award goes to the dad who built this storybook blue Victorian for his daughter back in the 1800’s.

Then he built this pink house right across the street!

I can just hear pink house daughter complaining that dad must love blue daughter more because her house is bigger!

I went to a party last night and bought my crowd pleasing dip. The best part is that it takes just minutes to prepare.

It’s scientifically proven that binge-watching shows releases dopamine (the pleasure chemical in our brains). I’m mentally preparing myself for the crash and burn I will endure when I finish watching my favorite show!

I’m just two episodes away from completing season 3 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel but luckily, there will be a season 4 to look forward to. It’s original, funny and the 1950’s/60’s costumes and sets can’t be beat!

If you have Amazon Prime, go to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel page to watch. You can try a free, 30 day Amazon Prime trial which would give you enough time to watch all three seasons. Another perk of Prime is the free two day shipping on most orders.

Sushi has a dirty little secret … her horrible halitosis! Her breath smells like Oscar the Grouch emptied his garbage can into her mouth. To make matters worse, she’s a licker! She’s always licking us (she especially enjoys slobbering on my legs when they are freshly lotioned up after a shower).

I’ve tried Greenies treats but they make her puke (on my sofa, rug and even my lap which was the last straw). I looked into a liquid that can be added to a dogs water but I think it has all kind of weird chemicals so I’ll pass. I tried brushing her teeth in the past and that didn’t go well but I am starting up again not only so I don’t have to stay at least three feet from her at all times, but also because tartar buildup is bad news for dogs and can lead to serious health problems. I’m really looking forward to the scent of the poultry flavored toothpaste.

Wednesday, the last bird will be back in my nest! Hopefully, she doesn’t insist on checking into a hotel to avoid Sushi’s breath.

  1. These houses were scrumptious. I love dips, must try this. There must be something for her breath, poor baby and you, lol! Have a good time with the girls.

  2. Has your vet checked her teeth for decay? My older pup had bad breath and once her bad teeth were pulled, it disappeared!

  3. If her breath is that bad, she might need a dental. That’s usually the sign of a tooth gone bad. I work with a rescue and see this constantly. Even my other two dogs who aren’t rescues have had bad teeth.

  4. I have a dog, so I feel your pain. If you find a solution, outside of actually getting their teen cleaned, please share. my dog does not have much tarter on her teeth. but her breath still stinks. whew!!! I’m still LOL at this post, some people just don’t understand. I too have tried it all.
