My Tinsel in a Tangle Christmas Home Tour

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Time for my annual Christmas home tour. Can you believe this is my 14th Christmas tour here on my blog?! This year, I channeled visions of old-fashioned Christmases past to create a magical winter wonderland that sparkles and shines. Of course, no Kelly Elko Christmas would be complete without some vintage magic, whimsy, and a unique wreath I created that’s the centerpiece of my mantel. Welcome to my Tinsel in a Tangle Christmas Home Tour!

I have fun coming up with completely new looks for my Christmas mantel every year. This year, I got my tinsel in a tangle and created a wreath dripping in strands of silver tinsel. It sparkles magically at night against the twinkling lights.

I love the way it pops against my huge antique chalkboard found for free at a garage sale years ago.

This year, I used mostly what I had and only bought a few things including these adorable light up paper houses.

I shared these little houses a couple of months ago knowing they would sell out and sure enough, all of them have except for the blue house which you can buy here for only $5!

I’ve had this trio of deer for years and thought their pastel colors coordinated perfectly with the little houses on the mantel.

I tried something different this year … a tinsel covered tree. This picture does not do the tree justice so be sure to watch the video tour in this post to see how stunning it truly is.

I plan to add our family decorations this weekend with my girls but for now, the simplicity of the tinsel is so much fun.

My Magic Mushroom Tree was so fun to create! I found a box of tiny vintage mushrooms a couple of years ago and paired them with new mushroom ornaments to create a tree perfect for a trio of little elves to sit under.

I can’t say enough good things about my pair of brand new Christmas trees!

They are so lifelike and the airy branches mean lots of space to hang my prized vintage ornament collection.

I have a thing for little Christmas houses so I had to scoop up these up and make them the centerpiece of my table (found at Target but not available online).

I love using dishtowels as napkins and these are from a few years ago and I always include my festive faux cedar placemats.
