Coming in Hot – Volume 2
It’s that time of the week when I share all the things I am loving plus peeks into my home, and updates on what’s going on in my life all with a bit of humor.
DILL YOU PICKLEBALL?
I took my first official pickleball lesson and love it!
I bought these $5 pickleball paddles at Target a few months ago and if I keep up with it, I’ll have to invest in a decent paddle (but it has to be cute)!
Let me know in the comments if you have any paddle buying tips.
BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS STYLEMAKER
I was excited to get an invite to the annual Better Homes and Garden Stylemaker event in Manhattan in September. I’ve been going for years and it’s always so much fun and I love meeting up with my blog friends.

Marimekko Pants / Blazer with Ruched Sleeves
I think I’ve found my outfit for the event! How fun are these pants and I plan to get a lot of use out of them!
MOVING SUCKS!
Moving is not for the faint of heart! I helped my sister move (literally right around the corner) and now I need to recuperate on a desert island!
It made me want to purge, purge, purge my stuff. I really need to tackle the HOARD in my basement and garage but have been procrastinating.
I bought her this Dutch oven as a housewarming gift and she loves it!
IS THRIFTING DEAD?
Long gone are the days when I would leave the thrift store with cart loads of amazing finds!
I used to hit the thrift stores at least a couple of times a week but haven’t gone in ages. It’s just not what it used to be.
I think more people are selling their stuff on Facebook instead of donating. That, coupled with all the resellers, and the rising prices, makes it nearly impossible to find anything decent anymore.
Plus, I have too much stuff and I need to STOP accumulating!
I have done major purges in the past but things have crept back in as they tend to do when you’re not looking! I plan to read my own tips on purging to motivate me to start sooner rather than later.
Remember when I took you on a video tour of my hoarders basement and gave you tips on how to declutter?
One of the benefits of purging is making a little bit of money on our castoffs.
How to Throw a Killer Yard Sale here
My hydrangeas are having a banner year! In fact, I’ve been seeing people post up and down the east coast that theirs are the best they’ve ever been too!
HI – DRANGEAS!
This is the best year I have seen for hydrangeas in over a decade!
Mine are especially gorgeous as you can see from my Endless Summer hydrangeas (click to see how much they’ve grown since I planted them!) in pinks and purples above and my Nikko Blue hydrangeas below.
WE’RE APPLYING MAKEUP ALL WRONG!
Who knew? I’ve been putting blush on the apples of my cheeks since I was a teen but makeup artist Erica Taylor has taught me that is a no-no as we age! She got me to buy this blush (in muted peach) and the subtle glow is so pretty!
She’s funny too and once you watch her, you’ll be mouthing “over the river and through the hood” to yourself as you apply eyeshadow!
HEY BEAUTIFUL
I have a pretty tried and true skincare routine and I’m not one to jump on the latest bandwagon. But when I saw a tube of this Exfoliating Face Scrub in my sister’s bathroom, of course I had to steal (I mean try) it. It actually heats up a bit and feels sooooo good! It’s a bit pricy but the tube lasts a long time.

Are all your hydrangeas in the sun?
My pink ones get a lot of sun. The blue hydrangeas have dappled sun.
